    ABOUT AIS INFRASTRUCTURE

    The AIS Infrastructure Group is comprised of four heavy civil construction operating companies delivering complex infrastructure solutions across the United States. Our work supports government and state agencies as well as private enterprise and includes highways, bridges, DOT projects, power plants, dams and reservoirs, underground utilities, and large-scale site development.

    AIS Infrastructure is built on execution discipline, safety leadership, and accountability in the field.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Construction Manager is responsible for the overall execution, coordination, and performance of assigned heavy civil construction projects. This role bridges field operations and project controls, ensuring work is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with AIS Infrastructure standards.

    The ideal candidate brings a strong superintendent or field leadership background, understands how work is actually executed in the field, and has the capability to manage cost, schedule, and production at a project or multi-project level. This position plays a key role in driving operational consistency, production efficiency, and safety culture across projects.

    PRIMARY OBJECTIVES

    Provide leadership and oversight to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with contractual, schedule, and budget requirements.

    Translate project plans, schedules, and budgets into executable field operations.

    Serve as a key operational partner to Project Managers, Superintendents, and support teams to drive results and accountability.

    Proactively identify risks, constraints, and inefficiencies and implement corrective actions to protect project outcomes.

    Uphold AIS Infrastructure’s safety standards and ensure compliance with all regulatory and company requirements.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Lead and oversee daily construction operations, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and budgets.

    Coordinate closely with Superintendents and field leadership to align production goals, manpower, equipment, and sequencing.

    Monitor project performance, cost trends, and schedule impacts; identify variances and implement corrective action plans.

    Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and design information.

    Identify operational risks and proactively mitigate issues related to safety, quality, schedule, cost, and constructability.

    Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as AIS Infrastructure policies and best practices.

    Support continuous improvement efforts by standardizing processes and sharing lessons learned across projects.

    REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

    Proven leadership experience in heavy civil construction, preferably with prior Superintendent or field-based Construction Manager experience.

    Strong working knowledge of heavy civil construction methods, sequencing, and equipment.

    Demonstrated ability to manage or support project budgets, cost controls, and schedules.

    Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively coordinate across field and office teams.

    Solid understanding of project management principles and construction documentation.

    Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions in dynamic field environments.

    Commitment to safety, quality, and accountability in all aspects of project execution.
    Requirements (Education, Certifications, Level of Experience) EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline required; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

    Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma, OSHA) are preferred but not required.

    Minimum of five (5) years of experience in heavy civil construction or industrial services operations.

    Field leadership experience as a Superintendent or similar role is strongly preferred and typically necessary for success in this position, including direct responsibility for production, crews, and site execution.

    Strong working knowledge of project management principles, including cost control, scheduling, and risk management.

    Experience with construction and project management software and systems (e.g., AutoCAD, Primavera P6, ERP platforms, scheduling and cost-tracking tools).

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT & CONDITIONS

    This position operates in both office and active construction site environments.

    Regular exposure to construction-related hazards, including heavy equipment, elevated work areas, uneven terrain, and potentially hazardous materials.

    Physical demands may include walking project sites, standing for extended periods, climbing, and occasional lifting.

    Work schedules may vary based on project needs and can include early mornings, evenings, weekends, or extended hours.

    Travel to project sites and other business locations is required.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

    Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to heavy civil construction.

    Proficiency with project management and construction control tools.

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical and operational information clearly to field teams, management, clients, and external partners.

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues early and implement effective solutions.

    High attention to detail while maintaining a practical, execution-focused approach.

    Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across field and office teams.

    Professional, service-oriented approach to internal and external stakeholder relationships.

    PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

    Physical requirements include walking, standing, bending, climbing, and occasional lifting of light to moderate weights.

    Mental demands include managing multiple priorities, working under pressure, and making sound decisions in fast-paced, dynamic environments.

    Ability to work in varying weather conditions depending on project location.
