CREATING OPPORTUNITIES FOR DIVERSITY AND EQUALITY

  • Recruit and retain minority owned, women owned, and small business owned firms to CMAA

  • Make recommendations to CMAA leadership regarding up and coming minority, women, and small business owned leaders

  • Create a mentoring network for minorities, women, and small business owners, including CCM mentoring

  • Jointly sponsor events focusing on minorities, women, and small business owners in leadership positions

  • Recognize minority, women, and small business owners in the industry and their achievements

The CODE Committee released its first newsletter!  The inaugural edition is filled with information geared towards supporting M/W/DBE/SBE businesses and includes two major ongoing issues affecting our industry - racial injustice (#BLM) and COVID-19.  The CODE committee stands in solidarity with our black community and will discuss how we can use our channels and our influence within CODE to ensure we’re supporting the Black community.


CMAA’S C.O.D.E. COMMITTEE MEET THE OWNERS AND PRIMES VIRTUAL EVENT MAY 2020

CMAASC CODE Committee had a virtual event “Meet the Owners/Primes”. The event was planned to provide diverse and small firms an opportunity to meet one-on-one with Public Agency Owners and Prime firms to discuss upcoming projects and teaming opportunities. The event was held via Zoom Breakout rooms. This was one of the kind virtual event. We had a total of 7 Owners, 12 Prime firms, and about 100 SBE/DBE firms/ We received tremendous kudos and encouragement from Owners in having such a networking event in COVID-19 pandemic era.
