Job Description / Primary Objective |
DPMC is seeking an accomplished litigator to join the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. The ideal candidate should be skilled at handling cases from inception through resolution. This role involves managing a diverse caseload and delivering strategic advice to clients. Candidates will support numerous governmental entities and private clients in the state of California. Responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute case strategies, including risk assessment, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation
- Work closely with clients to provide clear legal advice, case assessments, and updates on case developments
- Support all stages of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, pre-trial motions, and settlement negotiations
- Collaborate with expert witnesses, including medical, forensic, engineering, and economic experts, to strengthen case arguments
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in California
- 2-7 years of litigation experience, public agency experience preferred (not required)
- Proven ability to manage and prioritize a large, demanding caseload with limited oversight
- Exceptional oral advocacy, legal writing, and negotiation skills
- Strong client relationship management skills with an ability to communicate complex legal strategies effectively
- Experience with e-discovery tools and case management software
Hourly Requirement:
1,600 annual billable hours; inquire about quarterly bonus incentives for exceeding billable hour s requirements
