Job Description / Primary Objective
|
The construction laborer performs tasks involving physical labor at on site construction projects
•
The position may operate a variety of hand and power tools and may clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, framing, demolition, clean up rubble and debris, and remove waste materials
•
The position may assist other craft workers
•
Maintains a clean job site, picks up all tools and equipment and secures job site each day to eliminate potential hazards
•
Performs materials handling and storage
•
Loads and unloads trucks and hauls and hoists materials
•
At times, this position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions
•
The candidate will lift, push, pull, or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue, and effectively jump, sprint, or throw objects into dumpsters
•
Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed
•
Brings problems to the attention of the site super
•
The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt. The noise level at the job sites can at times be very loud.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.. At times, this position may require long hours and weekend work.
Travel
Travel can be local or out-of area. Frequent overnight travel to be expected.

Requirements (Education, Certifications, Level of Experience) |
Required Education and Experience
· High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
1-2 years experience.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment.
