    Job Description / Primary Objective The Project Manager provides the planning, coordination, and direction for project management activities to ensure they meet owner needs, specifications, cost, and schedule, from initial project identification through construction closeout. May supervise office/field administrative staff, project/field engineers, assistant project/construction managers, and other assigned staff. This position will support construction in the Education Sector.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
    Primary contact and liaison for owner and principle partner entities for the contract, design, systems, procedures and related deliverables.
    Develops project specific procedures and documentation, and may consult with Owner on design and construction contracts and related A/E systems for the project.
    Assist with creative constructability ideas to reduce overall exposure (cost & time), and participate in value-engineering exercises to maintain the project design budget.
    Functional knowledge of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications to ensure compliance with construction/project requirements.
    Obtains, maintains, and manages data, information, communications, and approvals required by project and company requirements between owner, architects, engineers, and other project-related entities.
    Represents owner, project and related parties in public forums and meetings.
    Manages project controls, cost, and performance activities and procedures, project logistics, organization, systems and project closeout.
    Leads in project meetings to include documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information and statuses.
    May coordinate, direct, and monitor activities of construction management staff, contractors, engineers, architects, and related performing entities.
    Field review and report on quality of work (control and assurance) and safety practices.
    Manages bid phase services, as may be required by the client.
    Coordinate final inspections, punch lists and training and provide all project closeout documentation.
    Performs other duties as required.
    Requirements (Education, Certifications, Level of Experience) Ideal candidates should possess 4 - 6 years of experience providing construction management of Educational Facility Construction.
    Four-year college baccalaureate-level degree with emphasis in technical disciplines such as Engineering, Urban Planning, Construction Management, Architecture, or
    equivalent technical area of study is preferred.
    Or 4 years additional qualifying experience in excess to the minimum stated above may be substituted for the required education.
    Experience with Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction / design processes.
    Must possess knowledge and application of construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles, techniques, materials, applications, and practices.
    Understanding of project delivery, time management, and how to deal with unanticipated events and unforeseen conditions.
    Proven ability to manage architects, engineers, and contractors throughout all project phases.
    Strong communication, writing, and computer skills are essential.
    Ability to represent Vanir and related entities in a professional manner at all times to ensure company policies and procedures as well as compliance to all applicable laws and regulations.
    Registration as Architect, Engineer, and/or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) is desired. Experience with Leadership in Energy Design (LEED) certified projects and/or the Collaborative for High Performing Schools (CHPS) is preferred.
    Experience utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) is preferred.
