SUMMARY
As the Business Development Manager of the Education Sector at HPI, you will lead and manage the business development activities and initiatives for the thriving, well-established Education & Student Housing sector. The geographic focus of this role includes Southern & Northern California. This position offers the flexibility to be based out of either our Orange County or San Diego County office.
DESCRIPTION
• Lead and coordinate all business development activities related to Education and Student Housing, in collaboration with the Principals.
• Develop and maintain a strong market understanding, research market trends, and share knowledge with professionals in the market.
• Develop, in collaboration with leadership and colleagues, the business development plan including strategic visioning, development of initiatives, and revenue projection.
• Strategically identify opportunities and potential relationships, as well as nurture existing relationships.
• Facilitate introductions of potential clients to members of the firm.
• Attend industry networking events/conferences and actively participate in relevant associations.
• Pursue and follow up on leads in the market as directed.
• Track target clients, industry leads, and opportunities, as well as relationship engagement.
• Evaluate opportunities (i.e., potential fee, length of engagement, quality of design, credibility of client) for Go/No-Go decision.
• Collaborate with the Marketing team in the proposal/qualification response process.
• Collaborate with the Marketing team in the development and tracking of other education sector marketing initiatives.
• Work with Project teams on interview preparation including the message and delivery.
• Work with leadership to implement technology strategies into the firm specific to CRM.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while effectively managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong understanding of the California education market, including K12, community colleges, small private universities, and student housing.
• Established network of contacts within the education sector of the A/E/C (architecture, engineering, construction) industry, including education clients, program managers, construction managers, general contractors, engineers, consultants, and professional organizations such as CASH, CCFC, SCUP, CMAA, and SMPS. |
