The City of Thousand Oaks is hiring an Engineering Technician in the Public Works department!
We are seeking a positive and motivated individual to perform the technical functions in support of the City’s engineering and construction projects. The successful candidate should be highly organized, have great attention to detail, and be flexible and adaptable in a work environment with constantly changing priorities. The Engineering Technician should be a team player and provide the highest quality customer service to internal and external customers.
Primary responsibilities:
Performs calculations and technical plan checks of public works and utility projects
Assists performing field -related surveys and design of American with Disability Act (ADA) compliant curb ramps per standard plans
Assists preparing basic engineering plans for roadways improvements including drainage and striping plans
Assists evaluating pavement conditions and repairs including marking pavement removal and replacement in the field
Prepares miscellaneous illustrative materials; participates in the filing and retrieval of engineering maps, documents, and records
Provides exceptional customer service at the public counter and on the phone
Prepares work orders for changes and improvements, and coordinates work with City field crews
Responds to inquiries from consultants , contractors, and the public regarding City engineering requirements |
