    Job Description / Primary Objective UCLA requests a written response to this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to select a Project Management consultant to assist in managing chosen projects from the campus’ fiscal year 2021/22 Deferred Maintenance Program and possibly other projects outside the 2021/22 Deferred Maintenance Program as determined by the University. Examples of projects in the Deferred Maintenance program include replacing HVAC equipment, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC digital controls, and building envelope systems at multiple building locations across campus. See Table A below for a list of example projects.

    • Knudsen Hall: Electrical Service/Distribution Systems Replacement $1,164,781
    • Vivarium: Terminal/Package Units, Distribution Systems Replacement: $2,478,734
    • GSEIS: Exterior Envelope Replacement: $2,478,734
    • Co-Generation Plant: Roofing, Flashing Replacement: $499,741
    • Young Hall: Roofing, Flashing Replacement: $1,535,262
    • NRB: HVAC Controls, VAV Boxes Replacements: $7,520,408

    The consultant will provide project management support on these projects, from developing a comprehensive scope of work, selection and management of design/engineering consultants during the design phases, assisting in the contractor procurement process, managing the construction agreement, and facilitating the closeout of the projects. The project budgets for the various example projects identified total $17,546.578. The total project budgets handled by the awarded consultant can range from $5,000.000 to $50,000,000 over the possible 2 to 5-year agreement.

    The scope may also include the need for intermittent cost estimating and scheduling services to assess compliance of the design with the project budgets. All projects shall be reviewed and permitted by the University’s Campus Building Department and Certified Building Official.

    http://www.capitalprograms.ucla.edu/Contracts/RFQProjects on Thursday, May 12, 2022. Responses to the RFQ are due before or by 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 3, 2022. A screening committee will determine a shortlist of firms; further steps in the selection process will be at the selection committee’s discretion.
