Job Description / Primary Objective |
Under the general supervision of the Campus Architect/Director of Design and Construction, the Project Manager, Minor Capital Projects performs small project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and oversight of design and construction for a wide range of minor capital and small major capital campus construction and renovation projects. In this entry-level management position, the incumbent works directly with administrative and academic campus clients to develop scopes of work, budgets, and schedules for a variety of project types.
- Collaborates with the internal Facilities Planning team to manage and execute high quality projects that improve the campus built environment.
- Leads project procurement by developing Request for Proposals and Bid Packages for 3rd party contractors.
- Develops Project Budget Authorizations to streamline campus approvals and secure project funding.
- Oversees construction work and scheduling with Clients, Inspectors, 3rd party Contractors and Physical Plant Management.
- Coordinates with Physical Plant Management building trades supervisors for utility shutdown planning.

Requirements (Education, Certifications, Level of Experience) |
- Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field such as Engineering or Planning. Master's degree is preferred.
- Equivalent to two years of progressively responsible professional experience in construction management, design management, architecture/engineering, or project management/managerial role.
- A Master’s degree may be substituted for two years of experience.
- Working experience in project planning, design, development, construction management, or capital program management is preferred.
- Experience working in an institution of higher education in planning, design and construction is a plus. |
