Summary of Job Details:
Under the general direction of the Director of Design & Construction Services, the Associate Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of the administration and oversight of Capital Improvement projects under $1 million including building renovations, deferred maintenance and infrastructure upgrades. The Associate Project Manager also provides support to Project Managers on projects over $1 million. Supports and completes work under the campus expert for asbestos and lead containing building materials and the campus Asbestos & Lead programs. On assigned projects, executes strategies for achieving campus objectives for compliance and performs inspections and surveys in campus buildings and project sites in compliance with applicable California OSHA standards and University policy. Independently interprets contracts, negotiates changes in the Work, hires and manages professional consultants, oversees development of plans and specifications, creates budgets and manages expenses, serves as liaison with all campus departments, and obtains project approvals and permits. These activities are executed within the framework of University policy and pertinent local, state and federal laws and codes.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in related area/and/or equivalent combination of training/experience
Thorough working knowledge of legal standards regarding hazardous building materials and compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulations
Thorough working knowledge of design, construction, construction contract administration and California Building Codes, including full understanding of industry practices.
Thorough project management skills, including skill to manage complex projects.
Thorough skills in problem recognition / avoidance / resolution.
Thorough organizational and analytical skills including skill to provide high quality control.
Detail oriented to accurately proof contracts and other documents.
Thorough written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills.
Proven ability to manage contractors and maintain compliance to the agreed-upon scope of work and budget.
Special Conditions of Employment:
AHERA Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor and AHERA Asbestos Inspector certificates
Must maintain valid CA DL, a clean DMV record and enrollment in DMV Pull-Notice Program
Satisfactory criminal history background check

Pay Rate/Range: Commensurate with Experience
Days/Hours: Mon-Fri, 7:00am-4:00pm
